| To the instigators of the
Hargrave Heritage Project I would just like to thank the group of Hargrave residents who developed this project. Their efforts and thoughts of putting together this incredible outlet to record family and village history, is much appreciated. I was aware of my family connections with this small village, which appears may have not changed all that much since my family left England, so long ago. But with no pub, no shops and an isolated church, my ability to research family ties would have been limited. This project has enabled me to not only fill in a few gaps in my family history, but also to put together some loose ends on what I know about my family. This for future generations would have been lost with my passing, which often happens in most families. I know Bondi Beach is a place of great interest in the UK but to have my grandfather’s connection with it and his family background with Hargrave, provide some interest today, confirms the worth of this project. This has been a marvelous opportunity for me and a great innovation by some people to not only save their local church but provide a community repository for their village history.
